In this first of four Kaleidoscope – Music Memes concerts, British accordion and melodeon player Luke Daniels joins forces with South African cellist Abel Selaocoe.
Abel Selaocoe is a South African cellist who has performed at the Aldeburgh Festival, Wigmore Hall and the BBC Proms who also improvises and performs traditional African music or with jazz artists such as Tim Garland. He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras including Kwa-Zulu Philharmonic, Johnannesburg Phil and Randburg Symphony.
Luke Daniels is a guitarist, pianist, singer and accordion virtuoso who has enjoyed a long career collaborating with artists from many musical genres music. Former Riverdance band member, he has played at London Jazz Festival, with London Philharmonic Orchestra and on the soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.
