Barry Coope, Lester Simpson, Jo Freya and Fi Fraser put on a festive feast to truly send you in to Christmas with a feel good factor. With their ‘Sublime singing, supremely joyful, glorious sound’
(Michael Morpergo) you will hear a mix of old and new. With a firm foundation of traditional polyphonic Yorkshire and Derbyshire carols this show is augmented by spicy instrumentals showing the link between carols and dance and accompanied song and also featuring the best of less traditional repertoire.
Many of these polyphonic carols have not been heard by the wider population and always amaze those new to this repertoire. For those of you who have seen them before they promise some of the best ones you may know already as well as some unheard of gems fresh for this show. To place these carols in a complimentary context it made sense to have some joyful instrumentals as many carol tunes were used for dancing. As always the show is enhanced by humour with some songs that illustrate other views on Christmas.
So hark hark..here they come.
