Archive film of the six townships of Bury Metropolitan Borough as they were thirty years ago.

In Victorian times the owners of the prosperous mills along the banks of the river Irwell called it The Golden Valley.

Today the river provides a geographical thread binding the six townships of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury; Ramsbottom, Tottington, Bury, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich.

Since this film was originally taken in 1990 many changes have taken place in the area and what was once commonplace has become a part of the historical tapestry of the six townships of the Golden Valley.

This event has been rescheduled from 18 March 2020, 26 August 2020 and 24 March 2021. Customers who booked for the original performances should contact The Met to exchange their tickets to the rescheduled show.
