Mary Macmaster (The Poozies, Hidden Orchestra, Sileas) and Donald Hay (Nuala Kennedy Band, Mystery Juice, The Unusual Suspects) combine to produce a beautiful, powerful and unique sound and a truly fresh, dynamic take on Scotland’s music.

Mary is one of the world’s leading exponents of the Camac Electro-Harp and the wire-strung clarsach and has been at the forefront of Scottish music since forming the ground breaking harp duo Sileas. Donald’s sensitive and dramatic drumming has him in high demand. He’s performed on The Transatlantic Sessions with Jerry Douglas and Ali Bain as well as recent festival appearances with Shooglenifty.

Macmaster / Hay have produced two CD’s; Love and Reason and the recently released Hook; performed at The Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe and toured in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Austria and Australia.

“This is moody, meaningful new Scottish music”– Scotland on Sunday

“There are some truly inspirational creations here”– Froots

Note: This performance is also included as part of the Big Whistle Weekend Ticket and the Big Whistle Friday Ticket.
