Come and delight in the elite athleticism of professional dancers from around the world, offering creative and quirky performances in the fourth Urban Moves International Dance Festival, celebrating the opening week of the Olympics.
Urban Moves have joined forces with The Met and Bury Council to present these international dance performances, alongside local community dance groups at venues across Bury.
Performances will include;
Fuse Dance (Bury) at Bolton St Station at 11.45am and 2.05pm
Bury’s over 50s contemporary dance company, set up in July 2009, will be presenting ‘Let off Steam’ at Bolton Street Station.
Company Chameleon (UK) at Kay Gardens at 12noon and 2pm
Company Chameleon believes in Dance Theatre as a vital method for social change. Their work allows the viewer to experience the art of dance whilst tackling challenging issues in inventive ways that allows the viewer access and inclusion.
Out of the Blue Productions (UK) at Market Place at 12.30pm and 2.30pm
Out of the Blue are a creative organisation specialising in performances of dance theatre and new music in unconventional spaces.
Stride (Greater Manchester) at The Rock at 1pm and 2.30pm
Stride is Dance Initiative Greater Manchester’s free dance project for young men aged 10-20. Its fundamental aims include introducing young men to dance, offering opportunities for these young men to experience dance as a high quality art form and to challenge stereotypes of young men in dance.
Company Massala (France) at The Rock at 1.15pm
A French company consisting of two contemporary dancers, a circus performer and a hip hop dancer… and a car.
