Ken and Jean have longed for a peaceful Christmas on their own for over twenty-five years

So when one-by-one their family cancel on Christmas plans they excitedly hide themselves away for a festive season alone, the Christmas Radio Times is highlighted, the peppermint creams are made and the sherry is to hand.

Alas, this isn’t like the films. Jean’s bohemian sister suddenly turns up, closely followed by their daughter and her suspicious new boyfriend. Seasonal bliss becomes Christmas chaos. And a whole lot more besides.
