Fifty years of music making.
We’re thrilled to welcome The Enid back to The Met for this special concert celebration of their fiftieth anniversary.
Defining the music of The Enid is never easy. The Guardian described the band as “Pink Floyd meets The Orb meets the Berlin Philharmonic”. The BBC said, “The Enid is the only band on the planet to have successfully fused rock-based music with the power, dynamics, and scale of symphonic classical music”.
The band was formed in the 70s to explore progressive ideas in music and the experimental theology that underpin the compositions. The way it creates and communicates its ideas may have changed over the years, but the philosophy of the band has stood the test of time and continues to live by it today.
2024 sees the expansion of the band’s touring line-up with Jason Ducker (guitar, bass, keys and vocals), Karl Thompson (drums, perc, guitar and vocals) and Robert John Godfrey (keys and vocals) being joined by virtuoso guitarist Alfredo Randazzo, and renowned bassist Tim Harries.
