14 September, 7 December & 8 February
Thanks to the GM Arts Spirit fund, working alongside Bury Art Museum, over the course of 2024-25, The Met will be hosting a series of networking and training events for artists and creatives living and/or working in Bury and the surrounding areas.
These sessions are designed for artists at any stage of their career within any discipline to build connections, meet new people, develop skills and feel supported in a local network of like-minded people and organisations who can provide help and guidance.
We will be holding networking sessions on Saturdays, 10.30am-12 in the Stanley Bar at The Met on a quarterly basis, please use the links on this page to book a free place. Training events will be added to this page.
Friday 4 October
In addition to our timetabled quarterly sessions we will be welcoming a guest from Salford CVS who are administering the GM Inspire Fund on Friday 4 October 1.30-3.30pm. This will be for a series of short bookable ‘surgery’ style sessions of roughly 20 minutes. Please come with a project idea to discuss. If you’d like to book a slot, please email education@themet.org.uk.
Bursaries
Through the GM Arts Spirit pot which funds this piece of work, we are able to offer a small amount of bursaries to support artists to access our opportunities (by funding things like travel, childcare or subsistence) or others that will help them to build upon their knowledge and expertise. These could be Greater Manchester-based training opportunities or online.
Grants of up to £100 are available (£200 in exceptional circumstances) and can be accessed by contacting steph.meskellbrocken@themet.org.uk with an outline of what the funding would be used for and why.
The deadline for the distribution of these funds is the end of March 2025 so any applications need to be received by end February.
