Ever been frustrated watching a TV show that the female characters are never the centre of the action? Or felt disappointed reading a book that the author only describes what the women look like and nothing about who they actually are? Or felt hard done by coming out of a film knowing the villain was really just misunderstood?
This workshop is a chance to reset the balance and give your favourite underwritten characters a chance to shine! Lizzie Milton, an award-winning writer for theatre and VR, will guide you through a series of creative writing exercises to develop compelling, complex characters and get your creative juices flowing in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Open to female-identifying writers of all abilities – no previous experience necessary.
For all New Moon workshops, we will be providing creative childcare courtesy of Earlybird project. This means that those who have children and may often experience barriers to attending workshops are welcome to bring their children to be cared for in a safe and creative space while they participate for no extra charge.
