Get A Round In brings together the best singer-songwriters for a Nashville style writers’ round.

This regular event at The Met features three artists sharing the stage to showcase their songwriting talent and tell the stories behind their music.

Our November event features…

Bryony Lloyd

A big feeler, player of old pianos and lover of whimsy. Bryony Lloyd sings for the unsung moments. Raised in Lewisham and now based in Manchester, her sound blends folk roots, heartache and humour. Her debut EP Aerial, produced by Sean Rogan, received praise from Fresh on the Net, BBC Introducing, and Illustrate Magazine for its emotional maturity and subtle power. Known for making people cry at shows, Bryony’s performances are heartfelt spaces where listeners can fall apart, and put themselves back together.

Bryony Lloyd replaces previously advertised performer Steph Fraser, who is sadly no longer able to appear.

Doad

Based in Manchester, Doad dedicates time to writing and recording songs with the aim of bringing even a molecule of peace to people who feel they are living in a world that is deviantly spinning into an accelerated state of entropy. Just kidding, pair these songs with a tired body, they could give you something back.

Ben P Williams

The evening will be presented by Manchester based singer-songwriter Ben P Williams, whose songs have seen support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing. Moulding the classic song-writing sound of Paul Simon with the laid-back nature of Jack Johnson, Ben draws inspiration from the greats while injecting his own wit and imagination into lyrics and melodies which can’t help but bring a smile to your face.
