This regular event at The Met features three artists sharing the stage to showcase their songwriting talent and tell the stories behind their music. Expect the very best of Greater Manchester’s acoustic talent.

Our July event features…

Kirk McElhinney

Kirk McElhinney is a passionate singer-songwriter whose soulful voice and insightful lyrics which together with a rich and vibrant mosaic of acoustic guitar picking give him a sound that is both unique and enticing. Mainly performing solo. His concerts are always something of a one-off, due to his free-spirited jamming style and raw energy which captivates audiences everywhere he performs.

Kirk has appeared alongside such luminaries as folk legend Bert Jansch, Tommy Emmanuel, Nick Harper, Katherine Williams, Wizz Jones and Nitin Sawhney who described Kirk’s sound as “…a melting pot of sonic bliss”.

Gideon Conn

The search for a new sound continues into a third decade for Manchester artist and musician Gideon Conn. A part time job in a hardware store provides routine, rhythm and a window to the world, invigorating his songwriting process. With a fifth album around the corner, follow Gideon on his journey through jazz soul and hiphop.

Ben P Williams

The evening will be presented by Manchester based singer-songwriter Ben P Williams, whose songs have seen support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing. Moulding the classic song-writing sound of Paul Simon with the laid-back nature of Jack Johnson, Ben draws inspiration from the greats while injecting his own wit and imagination into lyrics and melodies which can’t help but bring a smile to your face.
