Mark Thomas and Radio 4’s ‘fair cop’ Alfie Moore preview their Edinburgh Fringe shows at First Thursday Comedy Club at The Met, Bury. (Preview shows are works in progress).
Mark Thomas – Work In Progress Mark Thomas is 61 and has been doing stand up and theatre for 38.5 years and this show is back to stand up. Jokes, rants, politics, play and the occasional sing song. If you don’t know what he does ask your parents.
In his time he has won awards, forced a politician to resign, changed the laws on tax and protest, become the Guinness Book of Records world record holder for number of protests in 24 hours, taken the police to court three times and won, walked the length of the Israeli Wall in the West Bank and generally mucked about trying to have fun and f#*$ the right people off. This show is more of the above.
Alfie Moore: Fair Cop Live Edinburgh Preview Cop-turned-comedian with a brand-new show ahead of recording his BBC Radio 4 comedy It’s a Fair Cop. The audience are sworn in as cops before Alfie shares a real-life scenario from his own casebook. He playfully challenges them to say what they would’ve done – with often unexpected and entertaining results. Policing decisions are easy in hindsight, aren’t they?
Now you can experience the thrills, spills and laughter of making high-risk calls in the moment. Fair Cop: Live! is challenging, thought-provoking and fun. It’d be a crime to miss!
