The Dancing in Circles performance masterclass session is aimed at more experienced singers and led by award-winning ‘broken folk’ duo Lunatraktors.

This masterclass will improve your ability to improvise, to play in sync with other singers, and to sense subtleties of tone and rhythm. We will re-introduce you to your voice as an embodied, somatic experience, exploring the principles and techniques behind overtone singing and body percussion.

Body percussion is the use of gesture and motion to experience and express rhythm, both visually and audibly. While it can be used to produce complex rhythmic accompaniment while singing, body percussion practice also allows you to feel rhythm deeply in your body, giving increased control of tempo, emphasis and flow to the voice.

This masterclass will give your voice more body, and your body more voice, and help you take tunes off the page and into yourself, learning and feeling the music by heart and by ear.

Ideal for choir members, amateur and professional singers wanting to explore more movement through their singing, this is not one to be missed.

Lunatraktors will also be performing a concert at The Met on Saturday 25 February at 7.30pm. Attend both events for just £21!
