Bury Youth Theatre is a place where you can be yourself, be creative and find new talents with like-minded friends.

Our very own youth theatre is a supportive environment where young people come together to learn new skills and create their own shows. Led by highly trained professional facilitators, BYT can help young people find their first steps on the path to a career in the performing arts, or simply provide a creative outlet.

All groups are open to new members for September.

The group structure is:

  • Juniors (age 5-9). Our Primary age group which started in lockdown and has grown from strength to strength.
  • Transitions (age 10-11). This group is geared towards young people who are currently in Year 6 and 7 at school. We know that many young people have missed out on the transition activities that they would normally take part in over the last few years and we want to support anyone in this age group to make new friends, build skills and develop their confidence.
  • Seniors (age 12+). This is our long-standing Wednesday night youth theatre. Specialising in creating devised theatre, exploring improvisation, physical and vocal skills, scriptwriting and more, this group helps young people explore theatre skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Parents and carers are welcome to request a copy of our safeguarding policy by emailing steph.meskellbrocken@themet.org.uk.

New members for transitions and seniors, please get in touch with buryyouththeatre@themet.org.uk before signing up, new members for juniors, please email steph.meskellbrocken@themet.org.uk.
