BE. RIGHT. BACK. is a contemporary jazz quintet, home-grown right here in north Manchester.
Drummer Rob formed the band in early 2023, bringing together musicians who met through local community jazz programmes at venues including The Met and Band on the Wall. The band’s ethos is to create music that resonates with a wide audience – not just seasoned jazz aficionados. Even if you’re unfamiliar with contemporary jazz as a genre, you’ll likely find yourself whistling their music on your way home afterwards.
Their repertoire is an exciting blend of original compositions and reimagined works from modern jazz icons like Bob Reynolds and Janek Gwizdala. While all members live in Greater Manchester, they bring a rich mix of cultural backgrounds – from Brazil, Nigeria, Poland, and across the UK. This diversity shines through in their sound, with influences spanning pop, classical, latin-american, gospel, and r&b.
Join BE. RIGHT. BACK. for this fundraising concert, where all proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research UK. Expect beautiful melodies, thoughtful improvisation, and a unique fusion of global influences, all in support of an incredibly worthy cause.
Rescheduled from Saturday 11 January 2025.
