At The Met we love those visitors who help us to keep bringing new talent to Bury by making regular donations. Our supporters help us to nurture creativity and to provide community-wide access to the arts. In return we offer benefits including priority booking, invites to exclusive social events, and 10% off in our restaurant Automatic.
For 2019 we’ve introduced another new benefit: the chance to Pay What You Want for a selection of new season shows. We want our regular givers to love the same things we love, and to take risks on new artists with us, so for the following shows our supporters can book tickets free of charge, and pay what they think the show was worth at the end of the night:
Love Letters From Blackpool – Comedy – Thu 24 Jan 7.30pm – Regular price £10
Ruth E Cockburn’s acclaimed one woman show tells a comic tale of Blackpool. It will make you fall in love with this famous seaside town, warts and all.
Vishtèn – Folk Music – Friday 25 Jan, 8pm – Regular price £14 / £16
A powerhouse multi-instrumental trio, Vishtèn are flagbearers for their unique French-Canadian musical tradition throughout the world.
Blue Rose Code – Rock and pop – Sun 17 Feb 8pm – Regular price £14.50
Blue Rose Code is Scottish singer and songwriter Ross Wilson. “For those of you that long for Van Morrison to return to his days of Caledonian Soul or miss the late John Martyn, just switch your affections to Ross Wilson.” Scottish Daily Express
Unmythable – Theatre – Thu 14 Mar 8pm – Regular price £10
One show. Three actors. All the Greek myths. An anarchic blend of comedy, cross-dressing, stories and songs, Unmythable returns to the UK after a sell-out European tour and an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
SparkPlug – Theatre – Fri 5 & Sat 6 Apr 7.30pm – Regular price £10
A punchy and poetic exploration of family, race, identity and love, SparkPlug is the story of a white man who becomes the adoptive father, mother and best friend of a mixed-race child.
We believe in the brilliance of live music, theatre and comedy. We hope this offer gives our regular givers the chance to discover fantastic new artists and to show their support for live entertainment in Bury at a price that suits them.
