The Met is delighted to bring a summer of play and interaction for families to Radcliffe town centre, starting this weekend. Every Saturday from 22 June to 27 July the piazza in Radcliffe will be alive with free games, theatre and chances to play in our pop up culture shop from 11am to 3pm.

Perfect for kids from ages 3-13 (but fun for all ages), each week will see a different activity come to Radcliffe. One week you’ll be playing Rock, Paper, Scissors in a Roman Colosseum, and another you’ll become Pacman in the Actual Reality Arcade. There will be circus skills and new musical instruments to master, and a Pop Up Adventure Playground in the pop-up culture shop where you can help construct your own playground.

All of this takes place just next door to the recently re-launched Radcliffe Market. The market has been pulling in visitors from across Greater Manchester with fresh produce and some brilliant food traders; it’s the perfect chance to drop in for a coffee and see the market for yourself.

Working in partnership with Bury Council, The Met is excited to be part of bringing family friendly fun back to Radcliffe.

Mufti Games presents ROMANS
plus Pop Up Adventure Playground

A colossal play event for young and old, rooted in ancient Rome! Challenge your inner Centurion, play 3000 year old board games and take part in Gladiatorial  “ROCK PAPER SCISSORS (to the death!) in our ‘Mini Colosseum’!

The Circus House
Roll up, roll up, to learn all the skills and trickery you’d need to run away with the circus. From acrobatics and juggling to trapeze, you’ll be flying through the air with the greatest of ease in no time.

Saturday 6 July, 11am-3pm

Pop Up Adventure Playground
Play, create, build and have fun as Pop-Up Adventure Play take over the shop with boxes, cushions and crafting a-plenty. You’ll be amazed what your kids will create with a little imagination.

Saturday 13 July, 11am-3pm

Utterly Butterly Ukulele Project
Make your own TUB-Uke and join a pop-up orchestra! TUB-Ukes are constructed from an Utterly Butterly tub and a piece of wood, with fishing line for strings. To everyone’s amusement and amazement, the TUB-Uke is fully functional and tuneable and is played the same as any conventional ukulele.

Welcome to The Actual Reality Arcade, a life sized interactive game zone for all ages inspired by 10 classic arcade games where YOU bring the games to life.

Pilot spaceships, dodge barrels, build Tetris walls, fire rockets, shoot alien invaders and become Pac-Man.
