We are delighted to announce that The Met has been successful in achieving funding support from the National Lottery Community Fund via their Awards for All strand. The funding will enable the continuation and development of our provision for older adults and early years children via the Meet Me At The Met workshop and Movers and Shakers, our early years movement workshop.
Meet Me at The Met was originally set up in 2021 with funding from Ambition for Ageing and has gone from strength to strength since then. The group caters for adults over 50 and provides a relaxed, social get together on a fortnightly basis, with the added bonus of taking part in an arts-based workshop. Sessions are run ‘taster style’ with each workshop having a different focus and artform with workshops having been as varied as Bollywood dance, drama improvisation, songwriting, ceramics, sketching, play reading and ukulele playing to name but a few.
The additional funding support provided by the National Lottery will enable us to continue to run this workshop at a low cost, accessing high quality workshop leaders who can provide the best possible experience for attendees.
Meet Me at The Met is an entirely open and inclusive workshop, booking in advance is recommended but not essential and there is no commitment, meaning that participants can attend the any session that appeals to them. If you fancy having a go, then you can find out all about this term’s workshops and register to attend at this link.
