We’re delighted to announce that Burrs Live, The Met’s much-loved outdoor festival at Burrs Country Park, will re-open for a new season of summer music events from Wed 30 August to Sun 3 September 2023. This Bury based festival will bring you five days of live music, activities, family fun and artisan food in the great outdoors.
Burrs Live will play host to evening performances by acts such as The Bootleg Beatles, and also The Met’s music festival Head for the Hills, featuring two thrilling days packed with music from bands old and new.
Burrs Country Park is reachable either by car, a 30-minute walk from Bury, or jump on the stunning East Lancs Railway for a magical 5-minute ride on a steam train, which will take you directly to the site!
Burrs Live will also feature community events and workshops for the whole family to enjoy.
Programme of events:
Wed 30 August – The Bootleg Beatles
Thu 31 August – TBC
Fri 1 & Sat 2 September – Head for the Hills
Sun 3 September – TBC
Tickets for all events at Burrs Live will be on sale from mid-March via The Met’s box office, both online, over the phone and in-person.
Bring a blanket and grab a drink as we enjoy the festival atmosphere. We can’t wait to take in the sunset with you!
We’d like to say a big thank you to Ramsbottom Cricket Ground who hosted the Head for the Hills festival for several years. We’re thrilled to announce that Burrs Country Park will be the permanent home of Burrs Live and Head for the Hills festival from now and into the future. The large area of Burrs Country Park will give breathing space for the event to grow, while its proximity to Bury will make the festival more accessible to visitors.
Tickets will be on sale to members of The Met a week in advance of general release. For more information about becoming a member, please visit: https://themet.org.uk/about/support/membership/
