Work Experience at The Met – 2026/27 Academic Year

At The Met, we’re passionate about supporting young people as they take their first steps into the world of work. We’re excited to offer a new group work experience placement, giving young people the opportunity to gain an insight into working in the arts and events industry.

Our Work Experience Week

Our work experience placement will take place from Monday 21 June – Friday 25 June 2027.

Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to learn about different areas of The Met and discover how a busy arts and entertainment venue operates.

The group will spend time with a range of departments, including Marketing, Programming and Engagement, and will work together to put their learning into practice by creating and delivering their very own mini event at The Met at the end of the week.

It’s a great opportunity to develop new skills, meet people working in the arts and gain valuable experience of working as part of a team.

Who Can Apply?

Our work experience week is open to school and home-educated students aged under 18.

We welcome applications from young people with all interests and backgrounds, and we particularly encourage applications from young people from underrepresented groups.

Application Deadline

The deadline for applications is Friday 8 January 2027.

Unfortunately, applications received after this date will not be considered.

What Happens Next?

Once the application deadline has passed, we will review all applications and contact everyone who has applied to let them know the outcome.

Places for this work experience week are limited, so unfortunately, we may not be able to offer a place to everyone who applies.
