Board Recruitment

The Met is looking for new Trustees to join the Board of Directors. As a member of the Board you will help drive the vision of The Met, using the arts to help make Bury a great place to live. You’ll have a good understanding of the responsibilities of a board member have a passion for the work of The Met, and ideally you would have professional experience in one of the following areas

  • Charity law 
  • Those with a knowledge of the creative case (with a focus on LGBTQi and disability) 
  • Those with a knowledge of the Bury Community 
  • HR 
  • Programming/artistic development 
  • Marketing and communications
  • Fundraising   

If your skills are not covered above but you feel your skills would be an asset to the organisation, please feel free to get in touch for an informal conversation.

Members of the Board are Directors in company law and Trustees in charity law, with certain legal, financial, and fiduciary duties.

You should demonstrate your experience in any similar role, as well as your reasons for wishing to become a Board member of The Met. Please include a CV. The Met is committed to helping individuals develop their skills and competences. At the moment, we are reviewing our placement scheme so please keep in touch here for future placement opportunities.

The Met has a dedicated group of volunteers who assist with many areas of our events and activities. All volunteers are interviewed at application to ensure they get the most out of the opportunities we offer.
