The Met has a dedicated group of volunteers who assist with many areas of our events and activities.

Here at The Met, we pride ourselves on supporting young people during their first steps into the world of work. We offer bespoke and tailored placements to ensure the young person is getting the most out of their time with us. Our placements are based on 6 different fields of interest:
We aspire to ensure that the young person gains work around their interests. When applying, young people can either focus on one interest or all of them! Examples of tasks and activities that have taken place in previous placements include:
To Apply for work experience with us for yourself or as a teacher / parent / guardian on behalf of a young person, please email education@themet.org.uk and please state the following of the young person:
To help regulate the amount of applications we recieve, we have implemented deadlines for when you can apply in the academic year for placements. This is to give us the needed time to go through applications and prepare us and our staff accordingly. Here are the deadlines:
Please apply by these dates for the according placements.
Once applied, we will then send you an online form to fill in which will ask you in detail about your placement needs.
When this is complete, we will review the form and let you know if you have been successful or not. Please be aware unfortunately we are unable to accommodate everyone who applies based on the amount of applications we receive and our calendar of events for the year.
