Join award winning folk duo Megson in their unique collaboration with playwright and actor Kieran Knowles.

A local newspaper journalist at The Herald uncovers the fascinating life stories of its readers whilst searching for that big scoop that will make his career. Megson’s arresting and intelligent songs come to life as the stories, whilst Kieran Knowles’ narrative looks to answer what purpose the media has in the 21st century.

Four times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and winners of the Spiral Earth Awards Megson (aka Debs Hanna: vocals, whistle, piano accordion; and Stu Hanna: guitar, mandola, banjo) gained a reputation not only for their evocative songwriting, but for their exquisite musicianship and northern humour.

Bruntwood prize longlisted Knowles received his major acclaim with Operation Crucible (2013-2021) which appeared all over the UK as well as off Broadway where it earned a New York Times critics pick.

Joining them all on stage will be captivating double bass player, and chart topping artist in his own right, John Parker.
