An intimate, physical journey into a fragmented world as one man’s grasp on reality crumbles when the fantasies, memories and monsters of his recent relationship materialise around him, subjecting him to an onslaught of romantic terrorism.

Inspired by Alain de Botton’s Essays in Love and created in response the question – What remains of individual identity after being severed from a loved one? – the show explores the subjective, distorted and often confusing ways we remember experiences to which we have emotional attachments. Following the relationship of Richard and Sophie from their first meeting, to the onset of anxiety and eventual heartbreak.

By co-ordinating dynamic physicality and bold new writing, the show unpacks the puzzles that love bamboozles us with, in a vibrant, original and accessible way.
