After the huge success of staging a live event with Adamski last year, Bury Art Museum are proud to host another night of great music in the unique setting of the art gallery with three superb acts. A much loved underground household name, Wreckless Eric will be supported by Adventures of Salvador and Surfin Dave.

Wreckless Eric is a classic singer/songwriter who began his recording career at the height of punk and the new-wave era with the timeless song ‘Whole Wide World’ on Stiff Records. He is as relevant now as he was then, still touring extensively and enjoying the success of reissues as well as releasing new material on Fire Records.

Local favourites Adventures of Salvador are four individuals with a superb sound and great vocals who combine years of musical experience with taste. They pride themselves in not belonging in a box or being confined to a genre, although they have been described as ‘urban surf’, ‘progsurfabilly’ and the ‘oldest new sound around’.

All the Way from Bournemouth on a wave of energetic enthusiasm comes Surfin Dave. Originally known in the 80’s for tongue in cheek tales of teen angst, he shared gigs with a young Billy Bragg and landed support slots with The Clash as well as performing on The Whistle Test. Fittingly he once famously told the NME he’d ‘love to be as big as Wreckless Eric’.

‘Wreckless Eric is a hero to all those of us who love a good kitchen sink drama set to music. He takes the strangeness in the everyday and sets it to song. Like Ray Davies, Kevin Ayers and Ian Dury, he is a truly great British songwriter.’Phil Alexander, editor in chief, MOJO magazine

Performance times:
Surfin Dave 7.30-8pm
Adventures of Salvador 8.15-8.45pm
Wreckless Eric 9.15-10.25pm
