It’s 4am and The Union’s resident drag act Gloria Strokum goes out after her shift. She’s off her trolley and sat by the canal talking to an hallucinated Cilla Black when she sees a dead body floating. What follows are the stories of four – who work and drink at The Union pub – culminating in an answer to who it is in the canal and asking questions about community today.
Presented by The Bury Council LGBT Employee group, Union is brought to you by ambitious Manchester theatre makers, Cobbled Haze Club, whose award-winning work has been seen in London, Edinburgh and Manchester to critical acclaim. This is a new play suitable for ages 16+.
‘A play that could definitely stand the test of time… Union is really, it’s gritty, it’s unapologetic… definitely a play to catch should you find yourself suddenly North’

‘Good black comedy with a smattering of great one-liners’
