The Man Who Woke Up Dead is a dark, claustrophobic nightmare akin to the thrillers of Alfred Hitchcock and Orwell’s 1984.
Set in an alternate Cold War, in a sinister 1950s hospital, a man has woken up on a side street with no memories and a pressing sense of paranoia. When everything you believe is shown to be false, holding on to any kind of truth becomes a deadly game…
The Man Who Woke Up Dead was commissioned by Waterside Arts Centre and Creative Industries Trafford. Square Peg were the first commission winners of CIT’s to the stage theatre network. The production is also supported by Arts Council England.
