Arguably the most influential British Blues band of the last 20 years, The Hoax blasted through the 90s forging a loyal and widespread following and firmly established a cult status as one of the most exciting live acts of the decade.
It was at a small show in 1993 just outside Southampton where legendary producer Mike Vernon first saw The Hoax. Vernon helped shape the emerging sound of the British Blues movement in the 1960s by producing the classic John Mayals Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton album, as well as Fleetwood Mac, Ten Years After, and a then unknown David Bowie. He wasted no time in signing the band to Warner Brothers world wide, and in 1994 the critically acclaimed Sound Like This album was released.
2009 saw The Hoax reunite for a sold out 20th anniversary European tour, and in 2011 they held the first Hoaxfest, featuring each of the members solo projects appearing alongside The Hoax. The band also played a number of late night, intimate blues shows in smaller venues, where they played into the early hours, jamming out blues classics and treating the packed audience to a total of 5 hours entertainment.
2013 sees the return of The Hoax and the release of their first studio album in 15 years.
