The new stars of celtic music, Ross Ainslie and Jarlath Henderson have honed their playing with a winning fusion of pipes and whistles interspersed wonderfully with a heady cocktail of original and traditional tunes.

This duo first made an impact when they started performing together in 2003 at the William Kennedy Piping Festival and also made a huge impression here at The Big Whistle Festival in 2009. Since then they have honed their playing skill even further with a winning fusion of pipes and whistles that intersperse wonderfully with a heady cocktail of original and traditional tunes. Ross Ainlsie’s status as a Highland piper of considerable repute linked with Jarlath’s award winning Irish piping background underpins the empathy that the whistle has with many piping traditions.

It isn’t hard to see how this winning combination has become firmly established as a massive hit across the European festival scene.

This event will finish around 8.30pm.
