BBC 2017 Folk Award ‘Best Duo’ winnersRoss Ainslie and Ali Hutton are fast becoming one of the most popular duos on the folk scene. Both will be recognisable to Met regulars as key members of The Treacherous Orchestra.

Ross is one of Scotland’s ?nest traditional musicians and composers. He is an undisputed master of the pipes, a prolific whistler and cittern player too. Critical acclaim has also been given for his vocal work and for his countless collaborations.

Ali is a profiled Scottish multi-instrumentalist and has performed alongside some of the greatest Celtic musicians in the world.

Ross and Ali’s formative years were spent together being taught pipes by the late great Gordon Duncan.

Their friendship and musical bond is undeniable. Symbiosis (their recent album release) is a testimony to this unique musical relationship, one that celebrates a lifelong friendship that has seen them tour the world together.

Performing live, they are as entertaining as they are inspiring. Enjoy and savour a rare Lancashire appearance of this highly respected duo.
