Richard Durrant‘s life story is an inspirational tale of how a young boy on the number 26 bus to his first guitar lesson ended up performing in Paraguay as an honoured guest.
With his warm and easy rapport with audiences, Richard shares stories from his own journey as well as describing the inspiration he found in the music of Paraguayan composer Agustin Barrios that led him to perform at the country’s bicentenary celebrations in 2011.
Performing music by Barrios alongside Django Reinhardt, Claude Debussy and Manuel de Falla and featuring beautiful visuals, animation and film projected behind Richard as he plays – this event is light years beyond what you might expect of a classical guitar recital.
“One of the world’s most accomplished and experimental players.”
