Poppycock

Founding member and keyboard player of seminal post-punk giants The Fall, Una Baines and her band Poppycock showcase their album Magic Mothers.

Passionate for live performance, the band delivers an eclectic array of songs straddling the gothic, bluesy, ethereal; taking us on an uplifting journey to musical planes rarely encountered these days.

An unmissable evening.

Vee VV

Formed ’81; Disbanded ’89; Reformed ’18

Vee VV formed from the ashes of Factory Records band Tunnelvision, in 1981. They built up a strong local following and established themselves as a hard-hitting live outfit.

After a series of local gigs, they played throughout the UK including supports with James, The Gun Club, A Certain Ratio, My Bloody Valentine, The Mighty Lemon Drops, That Petrol Emotion and New Order.

Numerous releases on as many labels and they started to receive major label interest. In 1989, however, circumstances led to the band’s demise.

Reformed 2018.

’19 released Payola, a 19-track retrospective compilation album.
’21 released 12″ single, Ugly Freedom (TOKA Remix)

Vee VV. This autodidactic four-piece, carved out a niche as purveyors of blistering, taut, sometimes transgressive yet always white hot, contemporary sounding agit-noise; designed to shake the spine and open the mind.

Bellicose to the last.

Rescheduled from Friday 21 June 2024.
