Spend a year in the sunshine of southern Spain with a poet and his constant companion, a little silver donkey called Platero.

Spain’s best loved writer, the Nobel Prize winning Juan Ramon Jimenez, paints an affectionate picture of his hometown where you meet the characters and experience the gentle pattern of their lives in the timeless Andalusian landscape.

Mike Maran, last seen at The Met in A Funny Valentine teams up with internationally renowned Georgian director Levan Tsuladze and puppeteer Nino Namitcheishvili to create a beautiful adaptation of these delightful stories which are accompanied by a classical guitar score especially recorded for this production by Craig Ogden.
