London-based Irish vocalist Orla Murphy’s voice has been described as possessing a distinctive, rich sound with a deep and soulful timbre; often compared with Nina Simone, Cleo Laine, and Diana Krall.

Orla returns to The Met showcasing her second album Wonderous Visions, a presentation of new jazz arrangements and re-workings of Stevie Wonder songs, plus an original song, Timeless, written by Orla and accomplished pianist Steve Lodder.

“Sounding like the forgotten lovechild of Joni Mitchell and Terry Callier – seamlessly combining the liquid phrasing of the former with the soulful sonorities of the latter – Murphy’s captivating tone really draws the listener into the song…” Jazzwise
