Join us for Bury’s only regular poetry open mike night!
Once More with Meaning is a night of poetry, local ale, and eccentricity, featuring reading from open mike-ers and some very special guest poets, hosted by local poet and author Gemma Lees.
This month’s guest is Rod Tame.
Rod grew up a gay geek in Kent. Despite this he has survived into his thirties and now hosts the monthly Write Out Loud poetry open mic night in Sale. Rod’s first poetry collection Strange World Odd Person is being published by Flapjack Press and his stand-up poetry show of the collection will be staged as part of the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival this year.
“A tour de force of a poet blending romance, sci-fi and tabloid pop culture with generous alliterations, a rhythmic swing and surprising splashes of witticisms”
– Regie Cabico, three-time American National Poetry Slam Finalist
