Influential singer-violinist Nancy Kerr will play tracks from her stunning solo debut, Sweet Visitor. A respected interpreter of traditional material, Nancy’s emergence as a writer of rare style has drawn comparisons to William Blake in her reawakening of a radical folk mythology as a backdrop for contemporary narratives about love and conflict, migration, hardship and jubilation, and the tensions between rural and urban life.

Nancy is also in high demand as one third of a new trio with Andy Cutting and Martin Simpson, won Folk Singer of the Year at the 2015 BBC Folk Awards and was a pivotal songwriter in the groundbreaking composition project ‘The Elizabethan Session’. She will be joined by members of the Sweet Visitor Band, Tom Wright and Rick Foot.

3 Cane Whale are a multi-instrumental acoustic trio featuring members of Spiro, Get The Blessing and Scottish Dance Theatre. As intricate as a team of watchmakers, as spare as a mountain stream, the music encompasses both a cinematic sweep and an intimate delicacy.

BBC Folk Award nominee Ange Hardy grabbed the attention of the traditional folk music world by writing new material and embracing modern technologies whilst maintaining a traditional feel. She is joined by Lukas Drinkwater who brings double bass, guitar, vocals and a bold new dynamic to the stage.

Alongside a staggering list of other accolades Ange was awarded FATEA Magazine’s ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ in 2013, ‘Album of the Year’ in 2014 and ‘The Tradition Award’ in 2015.

As a solo artist Ange performs with a 27-string Salvi Harp, three different guitars, a variety of low whistles, a bodhrán drum, a tambourine, and an Indian shruti box. Combined with her innovative and subtle use of live looping to build layers up vocal harmonies she’s one of the most diverse solo-artists you’re likely to encounter.
