In Melrose Quartet multiple BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners Nancy Kerr and James Fagan join forces with Sheffield duo Richard and Jess Arrowsmith. The band have a bold take on old and new English songs and tunes with four-part harmony singing combined with twin fiddles, melodeon and bouzouki.
Luke Daniels is a master musician and singer-songwriter whose work does not shy away from the big questions; exploring life, love, doubt and faith through the lens of our shared human nature. Previous winner of BBC Young Tradition Award and a long established career as box player with Cara Dillon‘s band, Riverdance and movie soundtracks, Luke comes to Homegrown with new album, What’s Here What’s Gone.
Two of the British folk scene’s most accomplished performers, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman have graced stages the world over in a number of guises, however, the intimacy and strength of passion shown as a duo, combined with an eclectic repertoire ensures a rare treat. Twin daughters and a folk-rock whirlwind forced Kathryn and Sean to sideline their popular duo performances in the mid noughties, the pair returned to the fray with their highly acclaimed album, Hidden People in 2012.
