Britain’s most adventurous orchestra Manchester Camerata team up with wildly creative songwriter Toria Wooff for a one off special concert at The Met as part of Camerata’s Here We Are week.

This collaboration will see players from the Camerata delve into Toria’s sound world presenting her works in a way never heard before. Don’t miss this collaboration between one of the UK’s top orchestras and a truly unique artist.

Here We Are is an initiative from Manchester Camerata which sees them performing in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester for free, to help celebrate the launch of their free Music Cafés for people living with dementia and their carers. Camerata believes that great art and great social impact go hand in hand, and that everybody should have access to the transformative power of music.

Support comes from Carl North.

Carl North

Carl North’s sound is like a well-poured pint — refreshing yet familiar, with notes drawn from far beyond home soil. The music draws deeply from the rich wells of americana, blues, country and soul, sonic influences that have brewed together with Carl’s own British sensibilities over time.

Former frontman of The Lonely Hearts and current ringleader of Derby-based band Lucille, Carl has earned airplay on BBC radio, appeared at major festivals including Glastonbury, The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, and Y Not, and toured extensively across the UK. Along the way, he’s shared stages with some of the most respected names in the americana music scene.

Hard Times, Carl’s debut single, released in June has already amassed a considerable debut listener base whilst receiving radio plays from BBC Introducing Midlands and more local stations. Thorn in Your Side, his most recent single, which came out in August, is the first song Carl was proud to write, and pays homage to classic country heartbreakers whilst navigating relationship breakdown.
