The Magic Beans are a band with an ear for a quirky cover and the imagination to take it in a completely new direction. The Magic Beans are Zoe Kyoti (vocals), Ulrich Elbracht (guitar) and Matt Owens (bass). Their rootsy originals draw influence from folk, jazz & world music traditions. They’ll be playing music from their second album Anything You Can Dream.

‘Uli Elbracht & Matt Owens are self-effacing accompanists: they provide minimal velvet for the jewel of Zoe’s voice, which is magical in it’s smoothness, nuance and tenderness. This exquisite vocal instrument is deployed on an eclectic song selection. She charms on It Must Be Love, sparkles on The Beat Goes On, and removes the sting of For All We Know with a breathy, light sweetness. Most surprising of all, Kyoti transforms a desert into a paradise on a wonderfully lilting Horse With No Name.’ * * * * * Manchester Evening News
