PADOS Theatre Group will be marking the fortieth anniversary of the premiere of Jesus Christ Superstar, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s smash hit musical sensation based on St John’s Gospel account of the last week of Jesus’ life.
The show premiered on Broadway in 1971 and ran for nearly 1000 performances. Since then and thanks to worldwide touring productions and revivals in some of the most prestigious West End and Broadway stages, Jesus Christ Superstar has become a worldwide phenomenon enjoyed by millions.
