Geno Washington is the UK’s very own, resident Godfather of Soul, and Rhythm & Blues. A legend on the 1960’s live circuit, a contemporary of Paul Jones, Georgie Fame and Alexis Corner – who has had Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix as HIS support bands!

Yo Yo Blues! is a brand new show for life’s ups and downs – Geno’s recession busting, up-tempo, house rockin’, R&B band features members of the legendary Ram Jam Band who join him for a blistering set of Street Soul, Rock ‘n’ Roll and down and dirty Blues.

Geno still enjoys cult status on the Soul, Blues, R&B and Northern Soul scenes today due to his unsurpassable reputation as a live performer. His magnetic stage presence and his love of performance (and of life!) make him an inspiration and a joy to behold. Before he became the Godfather of Soul, Geno was raised on the blues and has released 3 blues albums in recent years – Loose Lips, Change Your Thoughts You Change Your Life and What’s in The Pot?.

Geno will be supported by Scottish slide guitarist and songwriter Dave Arcari.

Arcari’s alt.blues sounds owe as much to trash country, punk and rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta blues. As well as his trademark National slide guitar playing and original material, new album Nobody’s Fool presents another side of Arcari with ‘normal’ guitar and some material from key traditional, geographic and musical influences.
