The Met’s regular night showcasing emerging artists returns with an evening spotlighting two exciting bands.

So Called Friends

Musicians from duo So Called Friends performing on stage.

So Called Friends are an identical twin alternative pop/rock duo from the UK, writing songs for anyone who’s ever felt like they’re failing at being a “normal” human.

Raised on emo, indie and alternative music, they make self-produced records that sit somewhere between twenty one pilots, Portugal. The Man and Hayley Williams. They are equal parts anxious, angry, hopeful and occasionally ridiculous.

Before starting the band, they spent years touring the world working for artists including Bombay Bicycle, Club, Alt-J, and The Hoosiers.

If you’ve ever felt let down by the world you were promised, you’re in the right place.

We all are So Called Friends.

Sad Sells

Sad Sells are a six piece indie folk rock band from Manchester featuring the rising star Chloe Slater. Their debut single Between the Covers has been played on BBC Radio 6.

“Sophisticated dream pop drenched in summer’s end, love stories and hard town blues. Northern romance has a new custodian” Guy Garvey (of Elbow)
