Bury Think Tank and Bury Cultural Economy group welcome Andy Burnham to the Met to discuss devolution for Greater Manchester and what this can mean for creative industries in Bury.
Bury is in a very strong position to impact and innovate in the wider development of Greater Manchester. Creative industries make up the largest employment sector within the local economy and are projected to be the strongest growth sector in the borough over the next ten years. This is supported by the borough’s cultural venues which offer an internationally recognised infrastructure for local people and the visitor economy.
Creativity and innovation are clearly going to be major drivers for the Greater Manchester economy so it is timely in the development of strategies and ideas for the new GM Combined Authority for Bury’s key sector to contribute to the future prosperity of the city region.
The meeting brings together Bury’s Cultural Economy Group, the business members of Thinktank, Council leaders and representatives from various cultural companies.
Discussion will focus on:
Jobs and training
Creativity/innovation
Investment
Visitors/cultural consumers
Business Partnerships
Dates & Times
