In only a little over a decade, singer-songwriter and guitarist Dan Patlansky has become one of the busiest and most respected blues artists to ever come out of South Africa. After his debut album which garnered Dan a reputation as a Blues-phenomenon, and his subsequent Readers Choice vote as Best Blues Guitarist in Southern Africa, Dan’s second album was released by EMI on the famed Blue Note label. Dan is one of the only South Africans to ever achieve Blue Note status and one of only six Fender endorsed guitarists in South Africa.
Dan was selected by the legendary Satriani as special guest on the European and UK legs of his Shockwave Tour 2015 taking in twenty five shows across ten countries from 9 October to 10 November 2015. His new studio album Perfection Kills is out now.
Support Gorilla Riot are a five-piece dirty rock’n’roll blues machine from Manchester. They play raucous blues based rock, combining elements of grunge, stoner and country to create a full-on high energy rock show. Created by mainman, Arjun Bhishma, he surrounded himself with the best talent in Manchester to form Gorilla Riot – creating a three-prong guitar attack with multi-part harmonies. Arjun, Liam Henry (guitars and vocals), Charly T. (guitars and vocals), James Degnen (bass) and David Thomas (drums), began songwriting and soon entered the studio to record their debut self-titled album. This set them on their path to deliver their blues-drenched dirty sound that evolved into the acclaimed EP, Six Shots Down in 2017. Equally at home acoustically or electrically they release their next studio work on 18h May 2018. American Honey Vol 1 sees the guys extend their sound and song-writing prowess with three new songs plus an exquisite re-working of their hit song, Last Hymn.
