This year we’re inviting you to celebrate with us as The Met has its 50th birthday.
We’ll be hosting a series of events and celebration in September, and more details will be announced soon. As part of our celebrations, we’re asking audiences to share their favourite memories and mementos with us. This could be anything from a small written anecdote, to a collection of ticket stubs from years gone by.
We’d be interested in collecting the following:
- Pictures of gigs, events or occasion at The Met over the last 50 years
- Written anecdotes outlining your experiences of The Met
- Any old promotional material, ticket stubs, posters and the like
- Any thing else you might think interesting and relevant
We’re collecting these to inspire activity and commissions around The Met’s celebrations, and more details will be announced soon.
Our Derby Hall in the 1980s
If you are able to share anything with us, you can do this in the following ways:
- Email to harry.foreman@themet.org.uk
- Deliver in person to the venue and drop off at our Ticket Office
- Post to us at: The Met, Market Street, Bury, BL9 0BW
- Share with us on socials on either Instagram or Facebook
We’ve not always be known as The Met, you may have materials from previous names such as Bury Metropolitan Arts Association, Bury Metropolitan, or The Derby Hall. We’d be interesting in materials and memories from all of these time periods.
Everything shared will be returned. Just let us know where to return it to.
We look forward to sharing your favourite memories with the world and will reveals plans for our birthday celebrations very soon. Watch this space!
