No Barriers is a bespoke mentoring programme hosted at The Met until the end of 2024 for young adults aged 16-25 years old. It’s an opportunity for those interested in the music industry to gain real-life practical experiences of a live music venue and the cultural sector more broadly.

Each mentee will be paired with a professional mentor, depending on their interests, and be supported throughout. In addition, the No Barriers group can have recording studio and film-equipment time, attend talks from guest speakers and go trips to local events. There are no set dates so that programme can work around mentee (and mentor) availability, but to gain the most from this opportunity a commitment of 10 hours per month for a three-month period is needed.

We are particularly keen to hear from those who have a connection to Bury and identify as disabled and/or neurodivergent.

This programme is now closed to new applicants. If you have any further questions or queries about work experience within the venue, please contact education@themet.org.uk

Thanks to Youth Music the programme is fully funded.
