Having programmed an Emerging Stage at Ramsbottom Come Together Festival earlier this year, which featured artists such as Ellen Beth Abdi, Urban Theory and Yee Loi, The Met is thrilled to have been asked to curate a stage for this year’s Bury Food & Drink Festival, taking place between Friday 24 – Sunday 26 July.
Our monthly Emerging Showcase events have become a staple event in our venue, to which we’ve had the pleasure of providing performance opportunities (and more) to over 100 emerging artists from Bury, the North West and beyond, over the last three years. As a cultural leader dedicated to supporting emerging and early career artists, we are delighted to provide this opportunity to once again champion local talent, in new areas, to regional audiences.
Located on The Rock, The Met’s Emerging Showcase stage line-up is:
Saturday 25 July
- Charlotte Kinsella (10:30 – 11:00)
- Red Rae (11:15 – 11:45)
- Coruja Jones (12:00 – 12:30)
- Hattie Rose (13:15 – 14:00)
- Bay Bryan (14:15 – 15:00)

Sunday 26 July

- Celebratory Cake (13:15 – 14:00)
- Ben P Williams (14:15 – 15:00)

Featured artists include Hattie Rose, who supported The Lottery Winners on our Derby Hall stage in 2023, Ben P Williams who curates our regular Get A Round In events and Emily Mercer – a Manchester based singer-songwriter who we’re working closely with on an exciting (to be announced!) project in the autumn.
We are additionally delighted to announce that Bay Bryan will support Fleetwood Mad on the main stage on Friday 24 July. Bay is a Manchester-based singer-songwriter and theatre artist originally from the Rockies of Colorado (USA). Their latest concept album earned praise from the likes of BBC Radio 2 and led to performances at Manchester International Festival, Bridgewater Hall, HOMOBLOC and beyond.
Performances will be held throughout the day on Saturday 25 – Sunday 26 July at The Rock in Bury.
