Showcase Scotland Expo exists to further the opportunities for Scottish based musicians who play folk, traditional, world, and acoustic music. They aim to forge relationships with overseas music events and to lobby for showcase opportunities for Scottish based artists. Scotland Introducing is a new initiative they have organised which is designed to bring Scottish artists to England, creating exciting opportunities for Scottish talent to reach new audiences through a series of concerts in 2026.

Iona Fyfe
Aberdeenshire folksinger Iona Fyfe has become one of Scotland’s finest singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland.
In 2021, she became the first singer to win the coveted title of Musician of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards. A two-time winner of Scots Singer of the Year, Iona has performed across Europe, the US, Canada and Australia.
Iona is a fierce advocate for the official recognition of the Scots Language, leading a successful campaign to pressure Spotify into recognising Scots and add it to its list of languages. Honoured at the Scots Language Awards with the title of Speaker of the Year in 2021, Iona performs both folk and pop songs in the Scots language, remaining true to her rooting in tradition.
Iona has featured in several publications including The Sunday Post, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Times. She won the title of Scots Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards in 2018 and was described as “one of the best Scotland has to offer.” (Global-Music.de)

Birdvox
Birdvox is an exciting new electro-folk band born from a mutual love of birds, harmonies and kitchen discos. Together they embrace energetic, shapeshifting synthesis and the joy of vocal interplay. Expect velvet harmonies, considered lyrical stylings and lively bespoke beats.
Birdvox comprises four established, multi-tasking artist-producers: Sarah Hayes (vocals, flute, synths, programming), Charlotte Printer (vocals, bass), Jenny Sturgeon (vocals, guitar, synths, sampling) and Inge Thomson (vocals, accordion, electronica, beats).
Birdvox is an evolution of the collaborative cross-arts project Northern Flyway (2018-2021), a touring audio-visual show which garnered much acclaim. Its subsequent album recording received several five-star reviews and was included in Songlines Best Avian-Inspired Albums Top 10.
Working across genres of traditional folk, indie, electronica and pop, and singing in Scots, Shetland dialect, old Norn and English, Birdvox distil their individual influences into a unique musical point of view and a joyful live experience. They have been featured in Songlines magazine and received glowing reviews for their vibrant shows.
After honing their live sound on festival stages including Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival and Edinburgh Tradfest, Birdvox have recently put the finishing touches to their first studio recording with producer Peter Brewis (Field Music). The resulting twelve songs and instrumentals are fresh, striking explorations of subjects including the natural world, friendship, mental health, gender politics and environmental and social issues. Unflinching, uplifting and danceable in equal measure, the eagerly-anticipated début album from Birdvox will be released on Hudson Records in Autumn 2026.
