The Met is turning fifty, and we’re celebrating the anniversary with a very special weekend of events!

We have a concert from one of our favourite musicians John Bramwell (formerly of Mercury Prize nominated Manchester band I Am Kloot); an evening of up-and-coming music talents curated by Met artist in residence Liam Frost; a series of tours where you can see what goes on backstage and learn about our history; an opportunity for aspiring musicians to explore The Met’s recording studio; and a very special quiz hosted by our friends panto producers The Big Tiny.

In addition, world-renowned poet and patron of The Met Tony Walsh will be releasing a specially commissioned poem written for the occasion; we’ll be unveiling a special anniversary artwork created by the artists of Two Crows Arts Studio; and we’ll be revealing the brand new look of The Met’s bar and restaurant.

Fifty is a significant birthday for anyone, an opportunity to look back at the past and forward in anticipation of the future. We hope you can join us over the weekend of 12 and 13 September while we celebrate The Met’s fiftieth anniversary.

Here’s to the next fifty years!
