What is Holi?
Traditionally a 2 day festival celebrated in India, Holi usually features bonfires and a heck of a lot of coloured paint powder being chucked around. In short, Holi is a LOT of fun.
This year, we’ve having to do things a bit differently, so join us for a free, online celebration of the Indian Festival of Colour on Sun 28 Mar from 12.45pm.
Following the success of Digital Diwali in November 2020, we’re bringing the party to you door again and splash some colour into your life – literally.
What’s happening this year?
Working with partners across Greater Manchester, we’ve curated a whole day for the family to enjoy – from arts and crafts and storytelling to music, cookery demonstrations and more.
Don’t miss “The Magic Shawl”, a piece created by Walk the Plank which tells the story behind this colourful and joyous celebration of Spring, regeneration and love, followed by Voices of Holi, a collaborative mixture of audio and visuals, discovering what the Hindu Festival of Colours means to communities across Greater Manchester and beyond.

Be part of Voices of Holi, and tell us what the festival means to you and your family and how you’d normally spend the day. Record it on your phone and send us a video or audio file, and we’ll include it in the final product. Please send these to nick@walktheplank.co.uk
Flavours of Holi will be livestreamed on 28 Mar 12.45pm from the Digital Diwali website.
